Learning Abroad will host a series of scholarship webinars this semester.
First up are our Office for Global Engagement (OGE) Scholarship sessions. Students interested in our broad slate of OGE scholarships can learn more about each opportunity and best practices for a successful application. Learning Abroad regularly awards over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarship aid through the OGE Scholarships, furthering our mission of providing all students at the U with transformational academic opportunities.
We will also host webinars focused on the state department funded Benjamin A. Gilman and Freeman-Asia scholarships, two prestigious and substantial awards focused on connecting students who demonstrate high financial need to impactful programs around the world.
Despite the difficulties posed by the ongoing pandemic, University of Utah recipients of the prestigious Gilman scholarship grew from 8 in October of 2020 to 19 in October of 2021, a substantial increase of more than double the students at the U receiving awards from the State Department.
